MONTE DISGRAZIA 3680m
MONTE DISGRAZIA 3680m
The normal route to Monte Disgrazia follows the Pioda Ridge (W/NW), a classic high-altitude climb on mixed terrain. The approach includes a short glacier crossing—perfect for getting a feel for the mountain environment. The ridge, made of the valley’s distinctive fiery-red serpentinite, offers exposed, airy, and truly spectacular sections. While the route isn’t technically difficult, it does call for good fitness and a steady focus.

SCHEDULE
Day 1: Meet with the guide for a briefing and gear check. Car transfer to the Preda Rossa plateau, followed by a hike up to Rifugio Ponti (2560 m), where we will spend the night.
(Elevation gain: 600 m, approximately 2 hours.)
Day 2: Early morning departure from the hut. The first part of the ascent follows a moraine path leading to the base of the Preda Rossa glacier. Here we put on crampons and rope up to continue safely to the Sella di Pioda. From there, the rocky ridge begins—an enjoyable climb with easy but never trivial scrambling and some mixed sections, leading us to the summit.
(Elevation gain: 1200 m, average time from hut to summit: 4–5 hours.)
We descend along the same route. After a break at the hut to rest and refuel, we hike back down to the car in the afternoon.
NOTE: Meeting time and place will be arranged upon booking.
